Patrice Davis, a grant professional with 15 years of direct experience. After 10 years in the advertising and marketing industries, she changed careers and started applying for and managing federal and other government grants at national and local nonprofit organizations and a top research university.
She was also a public health analyst at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) At the CDC, she evaluated non-technical variables of grant continuation applications and coordinated reverse site visits for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I and II grantees.
She has successfully managed primary and sub-awards from 18 local, state, and federal agencies and subagencies including:
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (HHS)
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration
- National Science Foundation
- National Institutes of Health (HHS)
- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

Before launching Grants Works, she was the Senior Director, Federal Grants Programs & Performance for Boys & Girls Clubs of America where she managed a $54 million federal grant portfolio. She has conducted training sessions and webinars on how to find and apply for federal grant funding, 2 CFR 200, 45 CFR 75, and GSA travel cost guidelines. She is also the lead trainer for Grants Works Academy.
She also served as a fiscal consultant during site monitoring visits of federal grantees.
She has a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Management from University of Denver and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Morgan State University. She is a member of the National Grants Management Association, Grant Professionals Association, Georgia Grant Professionals Association, Government Contractors Association and Atlanta Black Chambers.
Patrice is an avid resistance training, running, and yoga enthusiast and a fan of foreign films and international fiction. She is also the founder of SeeCurrents®.
