Georgia 501(c)(3) organizations working on environmental justice, water, or climate and energy projects, especially outside metro Atlanta, can access funding through Sapelo Foundation to strengthen advocacy, collaboration, and community organizing. Grants support policy change, civic engagement, and organizational capacity that help marginalized and rural communities live in healthier, more sustainable environments.

RBC Foundation – USA aims to enhance community quality of life by supporting non-profit organizations that promote diversity and positive change. In 2023, it awarded over $2.8 million in grants, prioritizing youth programs for ages 15-29, arts access for diverse populations, and mental well-being initiatives. The foundation encourages sustainable projects that foster economic independence, providing critical support for education, mental health, and cultural enrichment, thereby making a significant impact across various communities.

Melton Foundation

The Melton Foundation is an international 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered in the USA, and a leading proponent of Global Citizenship education and practice worldwide. Established nearly thirty years ago with the credence that collaborations across boundaries can forge sustainable solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges, today, our programs reach millions of young leaders, having crystallized into a network of over 750 life-long Melton Fellows spread across 40+ countries. Melton Foundation Action Grants

The Melton Foundation offers grants year-round to support Melton Fellows in developing skills, perspective and wider networks to further their capacity as global citizens and contribute towards building an equitable, sustainable, and peaceful world.

In almost 10 years of granting, more than 100 Fellows’ initiatives have been awarded with a Melton Foundation grant to

• Build awareness and/or further awareness raising around global issues and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
• Develop individual and collective responsibility for sustained, collaborative action,
• Grow capacity to collaboratively drive and sustain social impact at the local and/or global level,
• Further the design, implementation and evaluation of collaborative actions that embody the spirit of global citizenship practice and further social impact, or
• Support coordinated social-impact efforts in a particular or across (emerging) Melton Foundation Hub regions to promote global citizenship practice (s) and the organization’s mission.

Georgia 501(c)(3) organizations working on climate and clean energy policy or climate change education can access funding through the Mayer and Morris Kaplan Foundation for general operating or program-specific support. U.S.-based groups focused on reducing fossil fuel demand, opposing new oil and gas infrastructure, or educating young adults on climate action may be eligible.

U.S.-based nonprofit organizations working on climate-focused projects, including in Georgia, can apply for Earth Rising Foundation grants of US $200 - US $20,000 to support bold, bottom-up climate action. Funding may support Indigenous sovereignty, regenerative agriculture, climate justice and equity, visionary climate futures, and youth climate activism, with all funds disbursed through an existing U.S. nonprofit.

Georgia nonprofits focused on youth confidence, inclusion, or sustainability projects can apply for community grants supporting programmatic work. Georgia climate change and environmental groups may be eligible if their initiatives protect the planet or advance climate resilience and equity. Funding from the Aerie Real Foundation is available to U.S. and Canada-based 501(c)(3) organizations, up to US $10,000.

Georgia climate and equity-focused organizations improving rural broadband access can access funding through USDA Rural Development’s Community Connect Grants; awards range from US $100,000 - US $5,000,000. Eligible applicants include governments, tribes, cooperatives, nonprofits, and for-profit entities proposing broadband projects in unserved rural areas that support economic recovery, racial justice, climate resilience, and community development.

Undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers at U.S. institutions studying fungi-focused climate science can receive US $10,000 for innovative projects addressing human-driven climate change. With a mission to advance mycology, Mycological Society of America provides Georgia and other U.S. climate resilience researchers support for fundamental or translational fungal-climate studies that generate openly shared results.

Organizations worldwide working on social innovations in climate action, pandemics and health systems, inclusive economies, racial justice, or effective governance can receive Skoll Awards of $2 million in unrestricted funding to scale systemic impact. Grants from Skoll Foundation help Georgia climate change and resilience organizations that meet these criteria and operate beyond a single locality participate in a global community of change leaders.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving veterans with climate resilience, environmental, or conservation initiatives in Georgia and across the U.S. can apply for Impact100 Global Veterans funding up to US $100,000. With a mission to empower women’s collective giving, Impact100 Global Veterans supports new or expanding projects in defined focus areas that fully expend funds within two years.

Early-career faculty researching U.S. economic mobility, inequality, or related social science topics can apply for US $35,000 - US $50,000 in one-year project support. Focused on social science research, Russell Sage Foundation invites Georgia scholars, including those studying climate change resilience and equity, to propose innovative, data-driven projects that address structural barriers and systemic inequalities.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in Georgia working on climate change resilience, rare disease research, elder care, Jewish heritage, or intellectual freedom programs can seek support for innovative, well-planned projects. The Mike & Sofia Segal Foundation funds efforts with clear beneficiaries, measurable objectives, and strong organizational capacity within its stated priority areas.

Graduate students in engineering, science, or architecture at accredited U.S. or Canadian universities can receive US $35,000 fellowships for cement and concrete research that advances sustainability and carbon reduction. The Portland Cement Association Education Foundation funds studies aligned with climate change resilience, which may benefit Georgia-focused projects within these technical fields.

Minority-serving institutions with STEM research doctoral programs can apply for National Science Foundation support to expand institutional research capacity and increase production of research doctorates, including in climate change resilience and clean energy, with awards of US $100,000 - US $2,000,000. Georgia MSIs developing graduate STEM programs or equipment may benefit across three CREST-RISE tracks.

Nonprofit visual arts institutions and arts education organizations in Georgia and across the U.S. can seek up to US $20,000 for clean energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability projects in their facilities. Helen Frankenthaler Foundation’s Catalyst Grants support first-step or small-scale climate initiatives that reduce emissions and operational costs in the visual arts sector.

The Gloria Barron Wilderness Society Scholarship encourages graduate students to contribute to wilderness protection, honoring Gloria Barron's legacy. The Wilderness Society prioritizes projects addressing climate change and equitable access to public lands. Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. graduate program, possess strong academic qualifications, and focus on long-term wilderness conservation. Research proposals on biodiversity, climate adaptation, and social-ecological contexts are particularly welcome, aiming for inclusive and impactful conservation efforts.

Why Confluence?

The Confluence Program, launched in 2021, seeks to expand The Conservation Alliance’s network of grassroots and community partners. We know that our network does not represent a coalition of everyone working to protect natural places. Great things happen when a diverse coalition of voices and perspectives comes together to champion solutions that balance the best interests of land and water, wildlife, and people. The Confluence Program is a first step in our efforts to help create new systems and structures that bring all of the groups, organizations, and businesses committed to this work closer together to protect our shared natural places.

Only in special cases do we fund more than one group working on a campaign – this is typically reserved for TCA Priority Campaigns.

We prioritize the following types of projects:

• Advance TCA’s Conservation Strategy
• Measurably mitigate the impacts of climate change and protect biodiversity
• Are led by or increase engagement opportunities for Indigenous, Asian, Hispanic, Latin American, Black, Brown, or additional communities who identify as People of Color
• Projects that uplift/center traditional ecological knowledge, history, and culture in relation to land and water conservation
• Expand outdoor recreation opportunities and/or access to nature in an effort to help create connections to and a sense of belonging in the landscape
• Aim to improve long-term and sustainable economic impacts for local communities
• Increase connectivity to other protected lands
• Incorporate efforts to mobilize / engage local communities
• Projects that focus on groups working in collaboration with others to protect land or water
• Conservation projects that address the social, cultural, and environmental needs of a community and/or region.
• Projects where the resources (e.g., staff, revenue) and strategy align well with the intended goals and outcomes.

The ROSES 2025: A.16 Cryosphere program by NASA focuses on the vital role of Earth's ice within the global climate system. It aims to enhance understanding of cryospheric processes through satellite and airborne observations, addressing the challenges posed by the remoteness of icy regions. The program supports research on Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets, glaciers, and Arctic sea ice to monitor changes and their impacts on sea level rise, ocean biology, and climate feedback mechanisms.

This program supports high-impact, community-based initiatives aligned to our focus on climate resilience and inclusion.

Multiple grants of $30,000 will be awarded across our two focus areas.

Focused on climate change resilience and equity, Levine Impact Lab invites Georgia environmental nonprofits to apply for operational support and up to US $25,000. U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations working on climate solutions, sustainability, or environmental justice with midsized budgets and growth-stage needs may receive 18 months of hands-on strategic and financial capacity-building.

U.S.-based XR creators and mission-driven organizations using immersive media for climate storytelling can access funding through Agog; awards US $25,000 - US $200,000 for projects at various stages. Grants from Agog The Immersive Media Institute help Georgia climate change resilience and equity efforts explore augmented reality, smart glasses, spatial sound, and mixed reality experiences.

Solar Moonshot Program Grant

The Solar Moonshot Program is helping nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy.

Grants up to $25,000 are typically awarded, with grant amounts dependent on various factors, including the organization’s need for funding. 

In addition to grants given through the program, we also offer short-term, low-interest recoverable grants to help cover the project costs offset by the Investment Tax Credit.

Grants for 2026 are made possible by the BQuest Foundation and two anonymous donors, and the program is managed by Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation. Learn more about the program's status and participants below! 

Common Waters: Strengthening Community-based Coastal and Riverine Stewardship

Opportunity Overview

Projects supported by this RFP must be community-based stewardship initiatives (including but not limited to stewardship driven by Indigenous and descendant communities); they should be led by an individual with a strong connection to and/or an existing track record of work in the community(ies) where the project will take place, or by a member of the community themselves, and be designed in response to community needs. Projects can focus on a wide range of specific issues, including (but not limited to) local conservation and ecosystem restoration, climate change adaptation and resilience, or sustainable fishing/agriculture. The RFP will prioritize projects in National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions destinations, including the Arctic, Asia, Baja California, Costa Rica and Panama, Europe and the Mediterranean, Patagonia, the Peruvian Amazon, the Pacific Northwest, Southeast Alaska and British Columbia, the South Pacific, and the United Kingdom and Ireland. Young Health Programme

The Young Health Programme (YHP) is a global disease prevention initiative, aiming to provide education for young people to feel empowered to make informed choices about their health and catalyse a global, youth-led advocacy movement.

The programme operates in over 40 countries and partners with more than 60 non-profit organisations, including UNICEF and Plan International. The YHP combines community programmes, research, advocacy, and the development of young leaders, with a focus on underserved communities.

Since its launch in 2010, the YHP has directly reached over 23 million young people, trained over 1 million, and engaged more than 23,000 AstraZeneca employees, who have volunteered their time with more than 140,000 hours.

The YHP aims to prevent the most common non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cancer, diabetes, heart disease and respiratory disease, by addressing five main risk factors: tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol, and air pollution. Additionally, the programme tackles climate-health impacts to build healthier communities, recognising, as projected in the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, that children born after 2010 will be the first generation to enter adulthood in a world where the average temperature will reach 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, and are expected to experience a +2°C rise within their lifetime.1

AstraZeneca Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship 2026

AstraZeneca is looking for passionate, driven young leaders to join their 2026 Young Health Programme (YHP) Impact Fellowship. The Fellowship supports young advocates to create actionable change to: 

• Advance health equity – with a focus on acting early to prevent non-communicable diseases among young people, or supporting young people living with rare diseases.
• Take action on climate and nature – advocating for the mitigation of the harmful effects of climate change on the health and well-being of young people.
• Build health systems resilience – contributing to stronger health systems that prioritise earlier intervention to meet today’s needs and mitigate tomorrow’s disease burden.

Benefits

The selected Fellows will gain access to networks, funding and development opportunities, enabling them to drive a global health movement led by and for young people:

A fully-funded scholarship to attend the 2026 One Young World Summit in Cape Town, South Africa (3–6 November 2026) as well as access to the One Young World Ambassador Network and the Young Health Programme (YHP) Alumni group of other young changemakers working to improve youth health.

Structured learning and development offerings to enable them to scale their impact, including both self-directed and live learning. This includes access to the One Young World Academy, an award-winning mini-MBA programme, mentorship from AstraZeneca colleagues and professional training.

Each selected Fellow will receive a grant of either USD $10,000 or USD $50,000 (if selected as the Lead2030 winner** for Sustainable Development Goal 3, for which applicants will be automatically considered) from AstraZeneca, through their non-profit organisation. Fellows are expected to use the grant to implement a project focused on either (1) advancing health equity (2) taking action on climate and nature (3) building health systems resilience.
