In 2022, the Community Foundation of Utah connected the Ogden Circle of Giving with the Dr. Dumke Foundation to support their initiatives to continue to support the Ogden area through their Donor Advised Fund creating the Ogden Circle of Giving’s second giving cycle awarding the Dumke Endowment Funds.

The Grant: 

Grants are to be made to nonprofit organizations serving the Greater Ogden area addressing pre-determined general issue areas in the community with an emphasis on supporting projects and programs. These issue areas reflect the values and priorities identified by the Board of the Dr. Ezekiel R. and Edna Wattis Dumke Foundation in its sunsetting plan.

Focus Areas: 

• 2024 - Ogden-centric civic and arts efforts
• 2025 - Conservation and environmental projects in the Greater Ogden area
• 2026 - Access to health care, particularly for underserved populations, women’s health care, and homeless populations
• 2027- Early childhood programs and education, including projects that provide enrichment beyond traditional school or community forums (Please note: no grants will be made to schools serving grades K-12)
• 2028 - Ogden-centric and arts efforts
• 2029 - Conservation and environmental projects of the Greater Ogden area

Priorities: 

The Ogden Circle of Giving rotates through core focus areas each grant cycle to ensure equitable access to targeted funding opportunities and to align with the Dr. Ezekiel R. and Edna Wattis Dumke Foundation's mission. These areas include:

• Education - Investing in lifelong learning through early childhood programs, higher education, and enrichment opportunities outside traditional K–12 settings.
• Civic and Arts Engagement - Supporting Ogden-based civic initiatives and arts programs that contribute to a thriving and inclusive cultural landscape.
• Environmental Conservation - Advancing conservation and sustainability efforts within the Greater Ogden area to protect and preserve natural resources.
• Healthcare Access for Underserved Populations - Expanding healthcare access with a focus on underserved groups, including women and individuals experiencing homelessness.

The Employees Community Fund (ECF) of The Boeing Company, specifically the Utah Chapter, has empowered employees for over 60 years to impact their communities through pooled donations. Beckley Area Foundation

Beckley Area Foundation was established in January 1985 by ten community-minded citizens. It began with a gift of $1.1 million from the Dr. Thomas Walker Memorial Health Foundation as “seed” money for this Raleigh County project. BAF assets have grown to over $70 million with over 500 different funds managed by our three trustee banks. Today, Beckley Area Foundation is one of West Virginia’s largest community foundations.

Since its inception, BAF has distributed over $23 million to charities and other worthy projects in the fields of education, public recreation, health & human services, the arts, animal services and beautification.

Scholarships

The Beckley Area Foundation proudly manages scholarship funds established by individuals, businesses, and organizations dedicated to helping students pursue higher education. Many of these scholarships are tailored for specific schools, fields of study, or graduates from local high schools, while others offer broader opportunities. No matter the path, our scholarships aim to support students from our region as they work toward achieving their educational goals.

Most of these scholarships must be awarded to students from our geographic area or at least preference given to such students. While the majority of scholarships benefit Raleigh County applicants there are others designated for Fayette, Summers, Webster, and Wyoming students. 

Ross C. Todd Scholarship

Merit based award open to West Virginia blind students. Both graduating high school seniors and college upperclassmen, which at the time of application have achieved and maintained a 3.0 grade point average or better, are eligible to apply; All other considerations being equal, the two recipients having attained and maintained the highest grade point average within the applicant pool shall be named as recipients; West Virginia residents who are matriculating seniors or students already enrolled in a college/university.

This scholarship is renewable.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is set to release a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) aiming to stimulate research on Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related dementias (ADRD).
